中国科学院上海高研院与壳牌石油公司于2012年4月27日签署 “壳牌前瞻科学项目”一期合作协议，以上海高研院为平台，面向中科院其他院所，在能源环境领域开展探索性研究和新兴技术联合研发。基于前期良好合作，双方同意深化能源环境领域战略合作并于2016年4月6日签署前瞻科学项目二期战略合作协议，壳牌公司将持续投入研发经费，进一步扩大合作范围，支持在能源环境领域开展探索性（Exploratory）研究和新技术（Emerging technology）研发。研究方向包括复合能源系统（Hybrid energy systems），CO2捕获封存和转化利用（CCUS），C1分子与合成气转化利用（C1/Syngas Conversion），计算（Computation）和新材料（New Materials）五个方面。

Shanghai Advanced Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences (SARI-CAS) and Shell Global Solutions International B.V. (Shell) entered into strategic cooperation agreement (Agreement) on 27th, 2012 April for the Frontier Science Program and deepened the cooperation on 6th April, 2016 with the signing of Frontier Science Program II. Shell agrees to continue the cooperation, expand the cooperation scales and provide funding for the exploratory research and emerging technology research and development in the area of energy and environment. The five frontier technology focus areas include Hybrid Energy Systems, Carbon Capture and Utilization or Storage (CCUS), C1/Syngas Conversion, Computation and New Materials.

目前“前瞻科学”项目办公室正在进行第一批课题征集，向中科院相关院所及有关高校定向开放。有意申报者请于2017年2月27日前提交课题申报表（附件）。请在申请表中详述建议课题的现有文献介绍、创新性及其应用前景或对科技发展的推动意义，并附上相关调研报告以阐述课题的创新性。两份文件打包发送，文件名“课题名称+单位+姓名”。

The Program is currently open for the 1st round application, open to relevant CAS institutes, and related universities. Applicants please submit the Project Application Form (see appendix) before February 27, 2017. Please illustrate the following key areas in the proposal: Current Technology Progress Literature Review; Novelty of the proposal (please enclose its research report), and the future application prospect/contribution to science and technology development.

壳牌科学家将对收到的项目建议书进行评审，并根据评审标准筛选出隶属于前瞻研究课题，同时又符合相关方发展战略的建议书进行资助。

Shell Scientists will review the submitted proposals, and select the ones that belong to frontier research topics and fit well with the development strategy of relevant parties.
